Some could read this article and think that the wealthy are just clueless as to what the poor have to endure, and how hard the poor have to work to get to were the wealthy are. However, I think that this article clearly states that the wealthy truly believe there is a level playing field and feel as though they have worked as hard as someone who began with nothing.

Class In America
I think that this article is saying that the wealthy take advantage of the poor. In a way it is saying that many of the wealthy do not understand how good they have it in relationship to the poor. It also discussed the idea that all Americans do not have a level playing field when it comes to achieving the American Dream. I think that the wealthy exploit the poor with the assumption that they had to work as hard as the poor did to obtain what they have. The article also says, "when social commentators or liberal politicians draw attention to the plight of the poor, they do so in a manner that obscures the class structure and denies class exploitations." (309) This proves that the wealthy know how the poor are treated but that they simply ignore it.
